FAQ

Common questions, straight answers

SpeechLive is a dictation and workflow platform focused on audio capture, basic transcription, and file exchange. vScription is a complete transcription workflow platform — AI speech-to-text with human-in-the-loop editing, team management (typist groups, reviewers, work types), medical spell-check, structured AI summarization (SOAP, radiology), and bureau-grade billing. The two are complementary: vScription integrates with SpeechLive so clinics already on SpeechLive hardware can plug vScription in for the editing, summarization, and team workflow without replacing their dictation stack.
vScription is designed with HIPAA and PIPEDA obligations in mind — every user action is audit-logged, files are encrypted at rest, and no patient data is sent to third parties. For Canadian data-residency needs, the vScription Canadian Pipeline keeps 100% of audio, transcripts, and summaries inside Canadian data centers with no cross-border processing.
Yes — with one requirement. You need a Philips SpeechLive Enterprise account (Basic and Professional tiers aren't supported for native integration). Once you're on Enterprise, vScription pulls audio in automatically, handles any file-format conversion, maps dictations to your authors, and marks completed work back in SpeechLive — no manual file shuffling.
All new organizations get a 14-day free trial with full feature access, an included AI-minute grant, and no credit card required. After the trial, your organization moves to a paid plan of your choice. Cancel any time during the trial for no charge.
Telephone dictation is coming soon. Authors will get a unique 4-digit ID and passcode and be able to dictate from any phone with keypad controls for playback, rewind, and save — with audio staying on our Canadian servers end-to-end. In the meantime, the mobile app and web/desktop uploaders cover most dictation workflows.
Jobs fall back to the manual transcription queue (this is intentional — it prevents surprise overage charges). Your typists can continue transcribing manually. You can top up AI minutes any time with additional packs, or set up email alerts at 500 / 100 / 0 minute thresholds.
